Louis Leterrier Could Direct The Avengers by Rob Keyes

Louis Leterrier, the man responsible for making the on-screen incarnation of Marvel Comics’ big green brute cool again with The Incredible Hulk is still on the prowl for more work with Marvel Studios. His Hulk re-do debuted alongside Iron Man in the summer of 2008 to relatively strong fan and critical reception. While there were issues about what cut of the film made a theatrical release for star Ed Norton, the film was solid and accomplished what it needed to. Since that time, Leterrier has made it abundantly clear that he wishes to do another Marvel film and he’s contracted for at least one more. While chances of The Incredible Hulk 2 going into production anytime soon are slim, we know The Avengers are coming and that Leterrier is definitely interested. Over the last year, the director has demonstrated that he’s thought about this quite a bit and as far back as last August he revealed his master plan for the future of Marvel and The Avengers. Now it appears that he’s actually in the running for the director’s gig of Marvel’s epic team-up project. Weekend Movie News Wrap Up: March 21, 2010 by Niall Browne

This week: Alice stays in Wonderland, much to the disappointment of Jen and Gerard; Said says yes to Conan; Steve Guttenberg gets over excited when he hears that “old faces” will be returning to Police Academy; Renner, Hoffman and Anderson are looking for anyone with $35 million sitting around to finance The Master; want to read another sentence where I compare a potential film franchise to the Jason Bourne movies? If so check out Andy McNab’s Nick Stone film Echelon, and Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell get their passports stamped for The Tourist Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland remained at the top of the box office after grossing an estimated $30 million over the weekend. The film has now grossed over $260 at the US box office alone. If I had a time machine I’d go back to the 90’s and bet some serious Benjamins on Johnny Depp being the biggest star in the world. Diary of a Wimpy Kid was second with an estimated $21.8 million over the weekend. The Fox film is probably already in profit. The kid may be wimpy, but the box office is strong. The Bounty Hunter made its debut in a disappointing third spot. The action-rom-com opened with around $21 million. The tabl

Transformers 2 – Why Spoil the Fun?

Transformers was the highest grossing movie of Summer 2007, third grossing movie for year 2007 and one of the best movies I’ve ever watched. A highly expected sequel has been in production since May 2008 and is still on going. Supposed spoilers, pictures of movie sets and rumors surrounding the movie keep increasing. Everybody wants to know what is going to happen, what’s the plot about, etc. What I wonder is: doesn’t watching leaked pictures, behind the scene footages and reading spoilers ruin the fun? The thing is, if you already are aware of the best parts, you’ll have nothing left when the movie finally gets released! You wouldn’t be able to feel the excitement, surprise and intrigue because you’ll already know what’s going to happen. And if you’re the type that likes to “share”, you might end up telling people who rather wait for the official trailer to build the tension then watch the movie to finally satisfy their curiosity and totally enjoy it. For those of you who would like to know the general setting, here is some info. Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen will be release June 26th 2009. – Set your calendars – Michael Bay is still
